NEIGHBOURHOOD ENERGYCALL
A RECOGNITION OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Energía de Barrio (Neighbourhood Energy) is a photographic project promoted by Pa-ta-ta Festival which uses participatory photography to highlight the realities, dreams, identities and daily struggles of Granada’s neighbourhoods. Through collaborative processes, we create a space for the neighbourhood to express themselves without censorship and to collectively create and reflect on their surroundings, using photography as a tool for representation, connection and transformation.
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
Anyone who lives, works, studies or is in any way involved in the social and community life of any of the 2026 edition’s participating districts: Genil, Ronda, Zaidín y Albayzín.
Regardless of their age or previous experience in photography, all residents, organisations, educational centers, collectives, social entities or just anyone willing to participate is welcome to join in.
WHAT ARE THE KEY DATES?

During the festival, all proposals developed by the different districts will be part of the programmed exhibitions and activities. The winning project will be announced during the award ceremony.
WHAT’S THE PRIZE?
Among the proposals developed by the districts, one will be awarded the Energía de Barrio Award, which recognises the district’s participation, community organisation, creativity and commitment to the collective construction of their own story.
The final decision will be made jointly by the public (50%) and a professional jury made up of mediators, and social and cultural agents linked to the region (50%).
The winning district will receive an award, which they will guard until the next edition of the festival. They will also inaugurate Pa-ta-ta Festival’s next edition, where they will present the award to the next winning district and their photographic proposal will be showcased as part of a specific exhibition at the Social Centre of Photography La Ampliadora.
