This call aims to select photographic projects for the \u201cPhotography with Social Impact\u201d Award. These projects must place people or the community at the center of some of their creative phases, making them protagonists. Preference will be given to proposals that address social challenges and issues linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a>, and that use photography as a tool for mediation or social transformation in response to exclusion, stigma, inequality, depopulation or pollution.<\/span><\/p>\n

Visual artists and creators of any nationality may apply, either individually or as part of a collective, provided they are over 18 years of age.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Interested participants must submit:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 A PDF DOCUMENT (max 1Mb) including:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Biography of the author, group or collective (max. 1000 characters including spaces)<\/span><\/p>\n

– Brief conceptual description of the project (max. 1000 characters including spaces)<\/span><\/p>\n

– Social justification: connection to one or more Sustainable Development Goals, explanation of the project’s level of community involvement and social impact (max. 1500 characters including spaces)<\/span><\/p>\n

– Authorship declaration stating that the work is original and the author holds all rights over it<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 A VISUAL SAMPLE: up to 13 photographs from the project (2000 pixels on the longest side, compressed in JPG)<\/span><\/p>\n

Both the DOCUMENT and VISUAL SAMPLE must be submitted in a single ZIP file (max 20Mb) through the form available on the festival\u2019s website (at the bottom of the page).<\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT IS EVALUATED?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A jury composed of professionals from the artistic, social and cultural fields will evaluate the projects based on:<\/span><\/p>\n

– The artistic and conceptual quality of the project<\/span><\/p>\n

– Relevance to the proposed themes<\/span><\/p>\n

– Community involvement in the process<\/span><\/p>\n

– Social impact<\/span><\/p>\n

IF YOUR PROJECT IS SELECTED
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

BEFORE THE FESTIVAL:<\/strong>
\n– Each project will be paired with a district of Granada. The festival team will conduct outreach and mediation with residents of the matched district.
\n– The selected author or collective will take part in an online session (in September 2025) to present the project and meet representatives from the district they\u2019re assigned to.<\/p>\n

DURING THE FESTIVAL:<\/strong>
\n– A public art intervention will be carried out in the streets of Granada, with all production, installation, and publicity costs covered by the festival. The selected project will be shown, along with the outcome of the mediation work carried out in the district.
\n– The presence of the authors in Granada is required from Thursday, October 9th to Saturday, October 11th, 2025.
\n– Participation in the awards gala on October 9th
\n– Participation in the guided tour of the exhibitions on October 10th<\/p>\n

\n– Creation of a public art intervention<\/strong> (with production, installation, and promotional costs covered by the festival)

\n– Travel, accommodation, and daily expenses<\/strong> from October 9th to 11th covered by the festival
\n– 100\u20ac fee for image rights<\/strong>
\n– 150\u20ac fee for participation in the online session<\/strong> with district representatives
\n– 150\u20ac fee for conducting the guided tour<\/strong> of your public intervention<\/p>\n

AND THE AWARD?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the selected projects will receive the \u00abPhotography with Social Impact\u00bb Award, with a prize of 2,000\u20ac in recognition of its social and photographic contribution.<\/strong>
\nThe decision will be made based on a joint evaluation by the public and the professional jury (50% + 50%).
\nThe winner will be announced during the gala on Thursday, October 9th.<\/p>\n

HOW DO WE HANDLE RIGHTS?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The authors will retain full rights to their work.
\nPa-ta-ta Festival is granted permission to exhibit and disseminate the work. The organization may use images from the project for promotional purposes, always crediting the authorship, both in this edition and in future editions.<\/p>\n
