TABLETOP
REVIEWS
OPEN CALL / DEADLINE SEP 14, 2025.
If you have a photographic project in progress or completed, if you are interested in sharing it with professionals in the field and being part of a collective project for circulation and dissemination, this is your opportunity.
WHAT ARE THE TABLETOP REVIEWS?
A space for meeting, dialogue, and personalized guidance between photographers and industry professionals. In a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, each author will present their work to a group of specialists who will provide critical feedback, guidance, and suggestions for the circulation of the reviewed projects.
More than just a technical review, the Tabletop Reviews are a formative and community-building experience: we believe in horizontality, exchange, and shared perspectives.
The Tabletop Reviews are also part of a traveling photography project through peripheral spaces, with the aim of creating a decentralized photographic circuit. Through collective viewing, cultural agents will select a winning project to be included in the programming of all their venues, each according to their own line of work: exhibitions, workshops, publications, interventions, or other actions. In this way, a collective itinerary is created, multiplying the visibility and projection of the work.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
– Photographers and visual artists of any nationality with a photographic project in progress or completed, seeking guidance and/or ways to circulate their work.
– People interested in understanding how professional portfolio reviews work, who wish to attend as observers.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS CAN BE SUBMITTED?
Photographic projects in progress or completed, of any theme or approach.
HOW MANY PROJECTS WILL PARTICIPATE?
From all the projects submitted to the call, a jury composed of members of the festival team will select between 5 and 10 projects to take part in the reviews and compete for the Tabletop Reviews Award.
WHAT WILL BE EVALUATED IN THE SUBMISSIONS?
– Artistic quality and coherence of the project
– Conceptual and formal clarity
– Development potential
– Diversity of perspectives and approaches
WHAT DOES THE CALL OFFER?
– Participation in a review session in Granada with professionals in the field
– Personalized feedback and professional guidance
– Promotion of the project through the festival’s channels
– Accommodation on the night of Saturday, October 11 (day of the review)
– The chance to win the Tabletop Reviews Award and/or reach a collaboration agreement with one of the cultural agents
– Certificate of participation
WHAT IS THE AWARD?
The invited cultural agents will jointly select a project to be included in the programming of all their venues — each from their own line of work — through exhibitions, workshops, publications, interventions, or other actions to be defined with each agent. This will create a collective itinerary for the awarded work.
In addition, each participating cultural agent will have full freedom to establish individual collaborations with any projects they find particularly interesting.
